    I am running LT2004 on XP-Pro

I have no problems with drawings that I or others in the office create
however on occations with drawings from some clients I experience the
    following.

Within the Plot dialog window and selecting the "Plot Device" tab. The
"Plot Style Table" drop-down has two options

    None or
    monochrome.ctb (missing)

My .ctb files are not offered as options for selection????? and the
monochrome.ctb is in the defined path?

Info - My .ctb files are not in the default path but in my own folder which
is defined in the "Options" dialog window,
    - The standard AutoCAD monochrome.ctb is also located in my folder.

    Any suggestions.

    Thanks in advance.

You sure it is not looking for .stb files.

Thank you for your help Dean, the Convertpstyles worked. It was the fact
that AutoCAD was saying "Monochrome.CTB (Missing)" I did not even
consider the drawing was STB based.

To your question, no I have been on R2000/2004 from the begining and changed
to using CTB and have not played around with STB since making the choice.

    Thanks for the help.

    Regards.
