*.CTB and *.STB problems

I've got a *.CTB with my pen settings saved. My problem is I have some drawings that, when I try to plot, default to the *.STB. The result is lines are all a light pen setting.

I do not have the ability, or don't know how to access my *.CTB with the correct pen settings. I have CWRA.ctb as my default in the preferences, but all it sees when I call up the command to plot are *.stb.

I tried converting the *.CTB to *.STB, but still get a MONO-LINE WEIGHT result. I've got a bunch of prints to make tomorrow and need a fix for this.

We have some stations on R14, some with 2002 accessing the same drawings. I don't think this should be a problem should it?? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,

Is "use color dependent plot styles" checked? (Sorry if it's a silly
question, but it's tripped me up a couple times.)

    Mark,

First determine the origination of these stb files. If they were created in
your firm, make sure that all 2002 computers are default set to ctb. It is
very possible that one of them is set to stb which could account for a few
of your drawings. They may be coming from consultants too.

Follow Dean's advice on those stb drawings to convert them with
    CONVERTPSTYLES.

When AutoCAD 2000 first came out, and we were doing as you, having both R14
and 2000 active in the same office, the problem that Dean described with R14
changing the files to stb never happened. What did happen is that many
outside consultant firms, particularly at that time, civil engineers, were
providing drawings using stb. At that time there was no Convertpstyles
command. We had to WBlock out the drawing and create a new ctb default
    drawing.

Going back and forth between R14 and 2002 on a regular basis will over time
create small losses of data, and when you attempt to open them in 2002 there
will come a point when the loss is critical and the drawing will no longer
open in 2002. This was a common problem for us with the use of both R14 and
    2000.

Hope it works out for you.
