creating rips in non planar surfaces

    Hello everyone,

    I'm in a bit of a pickle,

    I need to create rips and bends in a non planar surface(ie curved surface)
    can this even be done?

    No, you can't create a Rip feature using a non-linear edge. When selecting
    edges to rip, there's a little pink tooltip that comes up to tell you to
    pick an "interior, linear edge"

    You can, however, create a cut that works like a rip like this:
