Creating dll's for file protection

I have successfully transferred my code from vba to vb and created a dll
file. I have a short vba routine that loads the dll and executes. My
question is, when the dll file is compiled, a .lib and .exp file are
created. Are these files necessary for the dll to work? Or can I eliminate
these when I distribute my programs?

    Thanks in advance.
