    Ahhhhh!
    SW office Pro Sp3.0
    Pdmworks Sp 3.1
    Xp Pro sp2
    MS Office 2000
SW Office pro, newly installed on one machine, (by VAR), old install on
    another machine.
collaboration setting selected on both machines.
The SW problems happen, logged in to the vaults or not.
The Pdmworks problems happen, when either the localhost vault or the server
    vault is used.

    SW
1, Edit sheet format , save file, ok.
Save sheet format, full SW crash!
    Restart SW, no recovery widow.
New drawing, sheet format has been saved with all edits, Hmmm???

2, Assembly loads fine, but when reloading, ( to remove read only), SW
    crashes.

    Pdmworks.

1, Edit part, Ctrl Q, save part, check into vault.
SW explorer widow, not showing part is in or equal to vault, refresh vault
and sw explorer windows, sw explorer still not showing part is in or equal
    to vault.
I look in vault, the part is there!

2, RMB on any part, assembly or drawing in SW explorer window, select, "find
in vault", 0 matches found. even on the grey equals vault symbol,
    documents????

3, Checked in assembly to wrong project, moved to the correct project,
    assembly disappeared!
Lucky I don't have delete local copies selected!

4, SW task scheduler, Pdmworks printing, fails to work, (SW task scheduler,
    normal printing works fine),
Login failure, even though I have to login to get the project into SW task
    scheduler Pdmworks printing.
Goes through the motions in the temp folder, then fails.
    Log file, shows, login failure.

Total productivity this week, 5 out of 27 hours!
Monday was a Bank holiday, so Tuesday start.

Var coming Friday, hopefully to fix it, But just to add insult , they have
    just sent an invoice, lol
Guess what the response will be, if it is not fixed, lol, (Clue:-has
something to do with, "go forth and multiply"), :))))

Must give the support manager, (Brendon), his due, though, he did stay to
8pm on Thursday last week, good man.
Even though he had a 4 hour drive home, hope his wife and nippers forgave
    him!

Chris Horn, I know you will read this, WHERE IS MY DEMO DISC???? any chance
    by Xmas?sigh!

I got moaned at, for publicly chastising my VAR, (by some, (I believe),
liberal, do gooder), so here is a compliment.
Ntcadcam have really pulled their socks up and are being very helpful.
Their support receptionist is always cheerful, not many women like that,
    that I know of, lol
Praise where it is due, I say! :)

Now please fix my SW, or else!

Ok--- can help with SW 1 problem, It was happening to me a few months back.

    Tools, Options, General
Uncheck "save eDrawings data in SolidWorks document" there's a
SolidWorks SPR (not sure I'm allowed to tell you which one, without
breaking Non-disclosure agreement! I'll get a lawyer to explain it to me
    sometime)

Note SolidWorks SP 3.1 is available-- a must if you use design tables.

    Ok update,
    Sw sp 3.1 now installed

    SW
Problems 1 and 2 were solved by John Layne, thanks John!

    Pdmworks
Problems 1 and 4 were solved by Var's, tech support manager's flying visit.
Problems 2 and 3 still here, Var's tech support manager, has taken a copy of
every setting and a copy of the vault, to hopefully reproduce the problems,
    on his pc.

Problem 3 may have put the assembly somewhere else, but without the search
facility, it's going to take a long time to find it, 8-|

Good results so far, I think. :)

You can search the vault using Windows Explorer on the vault PC ---
don't move or change the files using Windows Explorer as this will
likely toast the vault (or so I've been lead to believe). Parts
Assemblies etc become folders under the projects folder in the vault.

One other thing-- Any issues with PDMWorks it's well worth using the
SolidWorks Discussion Forum--- PDMWorks is very well supported there,
unlike everything else! Joy Garon is incredibly helpful
