Hi everyone, Just started a new job, using Allegro 14.2 on W2K. Never used it before, but I like it. Here's what I want to know: Basically I highlight different nets with different colors, but I'd like the name to float on top of the nearest pad so I know that purple is +8V_1, red is +5V, blue is +5V_1, etc... because I have tons of stuff that I highlight and I forget what is what after a while... Second thing, they use Proeng to model the PCB mechanically after I export to ..emn/.emp files... I really like having this 3d representation of the board to work with, is there another way to view a 3d preview of the board? Because I don't have proEng on my station and I have to go bother the (busy) mechanical guy to see if connectors and mounting holes are ok. I was toying with blender, but it barely imports 2D dxf files, and imports nothing with dxf files with elevation data. With today's 3D gaming platform power on practically every PC, it seems trivial to implement basic 3D visualisation. Also, anyone using vocal input through Dragon or similar to do things like zooming to a part or stuff like that, handy during a design review with an engineer? Last thing, the middle mouse button needs to be 'vanilla' in order to pan, but I like having it set to 'double-click' in Windows, anyway to get Allegro or Windows to treat the MMB seperately in each case? Not really Allegro questions to be sure, but just stuff I wonder about. How is the newer version compared to14.2? TIA Alex
