Continuous brushed finish

  1. I am trying to create a realistic look of a brushed finish on a model.
Thus far, the only way we have figured out how to create this look is
by making jpeg images with the same look as the finish we are trying to
create and applying it to the model as a texture. This creates a
problem, however, because the texture does not apply to the model
evenly throughout. The brushed lines in the finish only go in one
direction, but when you apply a texture to a rather complicated model,
each side or section of the model has it's own applied texture and
they don't line up. Rotating and scaling the texture does not fix
    the problem.

I want to be able to do this without the use of PhotoWorks, just simply
how the part looks in SolidWorks.

    Do you have any advice?

    As always, thanks in advance.
