There is no contest. Solid Edge with S/T blows SolidWorks out of the
water when it comes to modifying non-native solids.

See the main Jon Banquer blog.

  3. Good Morning Jon,

Good to see that you are doing well this fine SoCal Sunday Morning!
Although, I must admit I have not spent any time on your blog I
promise I will take a look the first chance I get.

    Good Morning Alex,

I hope you are thinking more about writing your SolidWorks book.

I hope you are thinking about trying SpaceClaim to see if you like
using less restrictive / better modeling tools.

I hope if you do try SpaceClaim you will post about this on your
    blog.

I hope Siemens decides to make a free trial of Solid Edge with S/T
available to you (and anyone else who wants to try it) so you can
evaluate Solid Edge with S/T properly. If they don't I hope you will
bad mouth Siemens on your blog for not doing this.

I hope your post here inspires other SolidWorks bloggers to do the
same... it might help SolidWorks 2010 to be a much better product
rather than the useless piece of crap it currently is for working with
non-native solids and for trying to understand someone else's design
    intent.
