How do you manage a file in pdmworks that has multiple configurations?
Also, What do you do when you have to change or rename one of those
configuration names when it is used in multiple assemblies? Is there a
rename function for configs and I just don't see it?

From what we are seeing there is no easy way to rename the
configurations. The actual part is easy to rename and it does retain
    all the relationships.

    Please !HELP!

there is no rename function for configs in pdmw.
so after this revelation, i bet you think long and hard before naming your
    configs. :)

guess you already know you can check all effected parts/assy's out and use
sw explorer to rename configs and then check back in.

As far as I know Solidworks explorer does not even do this!. Well... it will rename configurations but it will not correct all the assemblies to actually point to the new configuration name in the part.

Please correct me if I am wrong. I just now tried it in 2005 pre release2 & still no go.

You would have thought that this would have been a standard feature
since that's what it's suppose to do... Manage data...
