command dialog box disappears

    I am having trouble with dialog boxes, after a while in acad2006 they
    stop coming up!
    Yes, my cmddia is set to "1". filedia is also set to "1".
    This affect options, xref, alerts etc. I have to exit acad completely
    and it usually fixes it. IT re-istalled acad2006 and it still does it.
    Any ideas?
