Changing vector graphics from monochrome to color

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Aaron Cunningham, Aug 17, 2004.

  1. I have a .pc3 file that is set up for monochrome plotting under the Resolution and color depths section. I would like to change this to color but I can't figure out how to change it. Can someone please tell how do this.

I believe this is why I'm not able to plot screened lines, am I correct about this?

  2. If they are grayed out you can't change them. Sytem Printers are always
grayed out I think and only certain AutoCAD built-in drivers have it.
Basically AutoCAD is checking the information from your printer and it's
telling it that it only supports monochrome printing and not color from the
    sounds of it.

  3. I don't need to plot anything color. What I'm trying to do is be able to plot screened lines. All of my .pc3 files are set up for monochrome plotting and won't plot screened lines for me. There is another computer in the company that has AutoCAD 2004 set up on it and there is a .pc3 file there that is set for color and will plot screened lines. This is why I'm thinking that I need to have a .pc3 file that is set for that but I can't seem to figure out what I need to next.

BTW copying the .pc3 file from that computer to mine didn't work. Is there something else I need to do to use this .pc3 file or am I going down the wrong path thinking that this will fix my problem of not plotting screened lines?

The vector graphics settings are grayed out for system printers because
AutoCAD can't control these settings - you need to click on Custom
properties and get to the system driver's configuration dialog to make the
change, if the device supports it.
