I changed the name of a dwg because the name of the room type had changed. It warned me that I might not be able to access the file if I changed the name, but I changed it anyway, because I had to. Now I think I lost the file. I did a search for it and I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanx in advance

If you changed it's name through Windows file explorere, you probably had the file extensions turned off, and lost the .dwg at the end of the file name.

Turn on file extensions in explorer under TOOLS->Folder Options->VIEW.

Then search for the file using just the first few letters of the file name.

You now have replys in at least three locations.

I'm sorry that this upsets you. I needed a quick efficient response. It would be more helpful if you could just reply to my question instead of correcting me like you're my teacher.

I did reply to your question in 2000 general.

One of the jobs of a Autodesk Discussion Group Facilitator's to teach users
    the posting rules. :)

I do apologize for not knowing what the "ground rules" are. I do think it is kind-of silly not to be able to post in multiple areas when you have a crisis such as a missing drawing. A lot of times the Facilitators will direct you to another topic group and I wasn't sure which group this problem fell under. I didn't have a problem with you teaching me the posting rules. I just didn't care for the fact that you were quick to correct me before responding to my question. No harm done. I will post to only one site from now on.

Sharon - the reason for the rule about no multiple posting is that other
people may have the same issues as you do. You would know where to look for
multiple responses, but others would have no idea.

I think you'll find that most discussion groups work that way.
