Does anyone know of a Center Line symbol in AutoCAD or is the only way to
overlap the C and the L. I can make a block of the symbol but was wondering
if Autodesk figured that one out yet or not.

  2. Try the STYLE command and make a Text Style using the font GDT.SHX and use
    the lower case q.

"CL." works for us. No special key-in, no special font, no separate block to get left behind, just CL.

If you use "txt.shx" font you can use this symbol ( | ). It is the one on
the key with the backslash symbol.

    Hi Casey,

Your perpendicular solution yesterday works here as well. Using mtext and typing in the lower case q (for CL) and editing that to gdt.shx.

This is an ugly CL symbol, but maybe there is a better "looking" one in another font that can be used.

    Re: Perpendicular Symbol in MText
Or, in mtext type the following:

    PLACE BEAM ^ TO WALL

then select (highlight) the ^ and change the font type to symbol (true type font)

What version of Acad do you have?
In 2005 you simply right click in the Mtext box, pick symbol, then select the required symbol from the flt out. CL is about 1/4 the way from the top.
