I am having problems plotting to a .plt file. I have installed by Repro companies plotter onto my machine, and followed their step-by-step, but for some reason when I attempt to create a .plt file, an alert window is displayed that states, "Cannot open file... Abort, Retry, Ignore". All three of these options have been tried and tested with the only result of a 1k plot file when ignore is selected. I am told that my .plt file should be the same size as the .dwg file itself. What gives?!?!

Could be a permissions issue with Windows. Are you sure you have access to
the drive where the file is supposed to go? Without more details, that's
just a guess (that sounds like a Windows alert, rather than AutoCAD). As for
the file size, it may be "on the order" of the size of the drawing file, but
depending on the plotter and driver, it could be much larger. That "1k file"
is probably empty -- that's the minimum for a Windows "place holder."

Also check the port on witch you have configured the plotter on. Try setting it on LPT2 or LPT3. (even if you don't have a 2nd or 3rd parallel port)
