When I start AutoCAD, Everything works as expected.
All files and menus load and there soesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary.
But, the last thing before the command prompt is *cancel*.

Are you writing something to load menus?

  3. Bill,

    It's driving me nuts too.

I have unloaded *all* menus and it still occurs in A2k4. Note that the
*Cancel* does _not_ appear on a new drawing opened in a current session.
    Still tracking this down... 8^(

Also I noticed my DBMOD = 4 after startup.
I use the undefine command in my acad.lsp and set some system variable but can't understand why it does that.
When I open the next new drawing then DBMOD = 0.

Also I dont know if this helps but...

When I have the express tools already loaded in default startup menu, DBMOD = 0 on startup.
When I start with generic ACAD mnu and load express during the startup, DBMOD = 4.

    Go Figure,

Scratch that last post (banging head on desk).
I removed express completely from the picture and still get DBMOD = 4

    Regenerating model.

    AutoCAD menu utilities loaded.*Cancel*

    Command: TOOLPALETTES

    Command: dbmod

    DBMOD = 0 (read only)

  10. Bill,
Happens on my startup too. I have learned to ignore it for now as it doesn't seem to mean anything. One thought that I had though - if the properties dialog was open during the previous sessions then the "properties" command seems to be called last after the first drawing has been opened in the subsequent session. Could there be some other command that is being cancelled?

Don't know for sure. I don't think so.
It actually worked right once a couple of times ago.
Except for the cancel (which I can live with also).

But then the next time (I do this the same everytime).
Start AutoCAD from the .mnu file and then in my .mnl load the custom .mns, do my startup stuff and then save the .arg.

The next time I run it.

It's almost like something is repeating as I get the:
    "AutoCAD menu utilities
    Menu loaded successfully. MENUGROUP: ACAD

    Menu loaded successfully. MENUGROUP: WPZ_ACAD

loaded." Which is correct except the I get the:
    "Menu loaded successfully. MENUGROUP: ACAD
" and I never call that command, only the "WPZ_ACAD" is loaded with the menu command here.
And then at the end I get the: "AutoCAD menu utilities loaded."
Which is a little fishy because I tested it and it's the same prompt that comes from the acad.mnl, and I think I should only be seeing it once.

I guess I can live with it if I have too but am trying to "get it right" asI have time before the other seats get here.

    Bill,
On my system, I believe it is the AECSTARTUP.ARX file or something
    that it loads or calls.
