    Hello Forum,

In AutoCAD2002, is it possible to change the default destination file name presented in the "Write Block" dialog box? I would prefer when the dialog proposed "a new block" instead of "new block", so it would sort better alphabetically.

    With friendly greetings, M. Moolhuysen.

I looked in all the .dcl files supplied by standard Install of AutoCAD R2002. None have "new block" - that is used for the 'default'. It must be burried somewhere in a .dll or such.
There are no 'System Variables' - listed in Setvar screens that would imply a way to set that string. I think you are out of luck on this one. No way that I know of to set-tile "..." to get the default overwritten.
    Sorry.

Been playing with the 'wblock'. Found a way - at the Command: prompt...
Ex: IF you had a given 'block' named "myblock", and wanted to
'wblock' it to the 'default' dir. -- Do:
    Command: (command "_.wblock" "myblock" "=")
The above will wblock 'myblock' by blockname / filename 'myblock'.

    Cheers
