Will the new AutoCad 2005 do Calculations or Formulas, i.e. creating a battery calculation form. I know we can use excel for this purpose but would like to do it directly inside AutoCad.

  2. You can either embed a spreadsheet in your drawing or create your own
function evaluator. As for Autodesk doing it... what does a CAD
    manufacturer know about spreadsheet functions?

  3. Hi Frank,

As you'd be only too aware - quite a lot. After all a spreadsheet function
is finally nothing but a formula.

Only there are different ways of accessing how to do it.
(/ 4.5 3.5) is a formula which returns a useable value and can be typed at
    the command line

I have no idea what a "battery calculation" form is, but you can certainly
do it inside AutoCAD one way or another. It's only a matter of which method
    requires the least overall work.

  4. If you have Office Web Components you can add a spreadsheet to
a vba form in AutoCad. Works great, you can use all the same
functions and such, and it lives in Acad which is nice..No calls to excel
it dirves the exporting of the data.. gl...Paul
