cadence on RHEL 3.0

Discussion in 'Cadence' started by Harald Neubauer, Apr 2, 2004.

  1. Hi,
I try to run an icfb on a RHEL 3.0 machine.
    I setenv LD_ASSUME_KERNEL 2.4.1 and LANG=C.
I can start and work, but if it comes to java (help, hierachy editor,
    corner,...)
    it fails and says:
    Unable to load native library:
    /sw/cds/5.0.32.500.5_Linux/tools.lnx86/jre1.3.1/lib/i386/libjava.so:
symbol __libc_wait, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6
    with link time reference

    Any help on this?
    Regards, Harald

I think I had this and I solved it but unfortunatly I did not
document what I have changed. If I get to recall I'll post.
However I never had the cdsdoc to start. I spent a couple
of hours searching a solution to no avail. That was a long
time ago. But today I tried to fire the hierarchy editor
and I did not start. Here is what I am getting.

Warning: Cannot convert string "MetaCtrl<Key>Insert" to type VirtualBinding
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: obInitC
    at COM.cadence.openbook.Openbook.obInitC(Native Method)
    at COM.cadence.openbook.Openbook.obInit(Openbook.java:37)
    at COM.cadence.cdsdoc.DynamicMenus.initHelp(DynamicMenus.java:211)
    at COM.cadence.cdsdoc.DynamicMenus.start(DynamicMenus.java:189)
    at
    COM.cadence.cdsdoc.DynamicMenusDriver.main(DynamicMenusDriver.java:31)

Because I am on a critical path (less time to find myself) I opened
a case. and I ma waiting for the answer (if any)

  3. Harald,

I remember seeing a similar error before and I think doing a full install of
the RHEL 3.0 solved the problem. Doing a full install adds only about ~1GB
extra space, but it could solve a bunch of problems.

  4. Ok. I just tried pulling up my cdsdoc version 2.0 from IC5.0.32 hierarchy
and I get the same error that you are getting on RHEL3.0. Seems like this
issue is fixed in cdsdoc version 2.1 shipped with IC5.0.33. I am running
IC5.0.33 on RHL3.0 machine and cdsdoc doc comes up without any problem.

    Regards,
    Prashanth

  5. I am running IC5.0.32 This seems to be the problem?
I think i will try it with 5.0.33 and report, but this might take some time.
BTW 5.034 is official for RHEL 3.0?
    Regards, Harald
