  1. hello everyone,

I'm about to start in a project our first layout experience using
Cadence. I was looking forward for any resources about:

    1) Layout practises extraction (using either Cadence or mentor
    Calibre)
    2) Layout integration
    3) Floor Planning
    4) Pads - Types and Needsd

    etc.

Whether it be books, a site, a forum .. i'd be really glad to know
    about them.

Another thing, also any nice tutorial on using Assura which you think
    is worth going through.

    Thank you,
    Regards,

I don't know how critical you need the product, the die size, and
whether or not it works. If all three are critical, I would recommend,
if company can afford it, to get a very knowledgeable, and reputable
consultant (make sure he is good, otherwise you'll waste ALOT of
    money).

If those three things are not critical, then try to leverage the
Application Engineers for the different products, this is hard as a
small company because they are more concerned with bigger fish, so you
probably won't get too much here.

Lastly, you are going to need to do some real digging and spend some
time in the pdf files (where you installed the tools). Try to talk
with people who have done it, use your contacts that hopefully you've
helped in the past, and now they would be happy to help you.

When you post to newsgroup, you will need to be somewhat specific in
your questions, and the group likes when you put some effort into what
your doing, try to search former posts, try some things, and if you
    get stuck then post.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi
I've been doing layout 24 years.
    You are asking ALOT.
I am a contract consultant & I also do training.
Floorplanning is the key on every chip.
I'll try to help you out as I am a cadence calibre & assura expert.

Do you have the foundary design rules?
    where are you?
