Im having trouble copying my cad files into photoshop, if anyone knows how to do it and has any information on scaling at the same time it would be much appreciated. WEve been told that the only way to do it is by printing and scanning it in but i find that hard to believe! thanks, help is much appreciated!

  2. Options:

    1. load & use AutoCAD's raster plotter driver to write to an image file that
you can open directly in PhotoShop (TIFF, BMP, PNG, JPG); the image
resolution is defined by the image size in pixels
    2. load & use AutoCAD's Adobe PostScript driver; write to an EPS file that
you can open in PhotoShop; the image resolution is defined by PhotoShop
    3. load & use AutoCAD's Adobe PostScript driver; write to an EPS file that
you convert to a raster image file with GhostScript
(www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/); use GSView (same site) or my frontend for
GhostScript for ease of use (www.output.tmfweb.nl)
    4. load & use an HP driver for a DesignJet (750C is ok) and use
Viewcompanion (www.softwarecompanions.com) to convert to a raster image file

#3 and #4 are a bit more complicated than #1 and #2, but offer more
    flexibility

To add to what Govert says, the two EPS options result in vector files,
which can be scaled up and down in PhotoShop easily. Be aware that the EPS
driver doesn't allow Colors Merge, so any solid hatches you have need to be
    Sent to Back.

    Best,
    Gordon

  4. Have you tried using Adobe Acrobat? Plot your Cad drawing to the Adobe Distiller to get a pdf file of your CAD drawing. I believe you can then import the pdf into Photoshop (should be supprted somehow as they're both Adobe products).

Or, if fully 'Adobe'd up, export to DXF, place that in Illustrator and from
there to Photoshop should be easy.
