CAD recommendations for 2D to 3D conversion?

Hello! I work for a warehousing company and we're trying to identify
the best software (cost is a big consideration) that can do BOTH of the
    following:

    1) The ability to do simple 2D warehouse/building layouts. Something
like AutoCAD LT is what most of the engineers have used before.

    2) The ability to convert these simple 2D layouts into 3D for
presentation purposes (we do not want to manipulate the drawings in 3D)

An older version of TurboCAD (about US$200) was suggested to me. I've
also told my superiors that AutoCAD LT with a 3D converter add-in is
also an option (cost of converter unknown).

    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thank you for your help.

If you are used to AutoCad, I wouldn't recommend Bentley, it is a very
    different way of draughting.

If you are really pressed for cash, there is TurboCad, if the drawings
are really simple, you could try SketchUp, which Google have just
bought, you can get an "LT" version for free (my favourite price),
SketchUp is a dedicated 3D package, so may be just what you are after.
