As has been mentioned VX is not a public company.

Frequently when a company decides to go public they do it
for some of the following reasons:

    They need capital.

The owners / investors want to cash out.

Here is some food for thought:

Why go public if you can raise 50 million without doing so
    like VX did. :>)

Why go public if you love what you do and don't want to cash out because
your vision of what a CAD/CAM system should be is not complete. :>)

Has being acquired by a publicly traded company really been
    good for SaladWorks ?

    Jon,

A few moments ago (depending how long moments are) I wrote the
text shown below. And I still ask myself the question.. Who are you ?
A normal day for you is what ?
Cliff dont reply to this post thanks.
And by the way... Jon, dont reply either..
    -------------------------------------------

    Jon, where should I start..
I will try to be polite but "Grinchy" feelings
come up whenever i see Jon on the screen.
I do look forward to see the 86 video although.
But, you should be a salesman, you have it in you.
Or is there an other explanation that you roam here
making adds for systems you think are better?
Wireframe... Wake up.. SW is a hybrid modeler if
    you use it correctly.
How can one come up with the idea that follows:
Hmm, I hate SW, let's go into the most attended
forum and try to convert them to god knows what.

This is my first post to you Jon, and even though
it is not so nice, you have to get the message..
And right now, looking back what I wrote, I see you
    writing back..
I dont understand at all, who are you ? What
drives you, must be the bribes from not SW companies?

Jon, If I would meet you in person, I think you
would be quite nice. But in here you dont show
who you are. Or, is this you, the real Jon. God help us.
And who am I you ask? Only 33, 15 of those in 3D in the
biggest variety of systems you can think of.

Jon, the text you see above is not friendly,
but informative and descriptive. (Sounds US enough)

    It's Korean, right?
Due to making a poor & unprofitable product?
Looked like they just dumped a bit more cash in instead
of losing all they had already dumped it.
It's cheaper to sell stock than to borrow to get funds IF
anyone would buy your stock & you could stand an audit.
Lose money? Get poor clueless to post BS?
Have to rewirte your kernel from scratch every year or
    so?

BW, How many old parts did they manage to port upwards
from kernel to kernel? Any at all? Or did all of their prior
customers just lose their parts & data?
Have you considered a night class in English?
    Does jb have clues?

  4. "As has been mentioned VX is not a public company."

    Nor is Johnson & Johnson

    "They need capital."

Alternately they can visit a bank.

"The owners / investors want to cash out."

Alternately they can sell the company privately or obtain private
    investors.

"Why go public if you can raise 50 million without doing so
    like VX did. :>)"

Because they were able to sell an interest in the company privately so
    no public offering was needed.

"Why go public if you love what you do and don't want to cash out
    because
your vision of what a CAD/CAM system should be is not complete. :>)"

Why stay private if you could accomplish more publicly?

Has being acquired by a publicly traded company really been
    good for SaladWorks ?

Ask an analyst. They generally work in this sphere.

AFAIK He's still banned in all the moderated groups
& on all of the specific vendor support Sites (he'd
have to actually *buy* a program & use it to be
    accepted in many).

  8. Yea - most of this stuff is just inflammatory drivel.

It seem to be posted about once a week with some sensationalist title
    to stir things up.

Meanwhile the "better" package does not even have a strong enough
following to have a legitimate usenet newsgroup.

Let's blame that all on Mr. Wm. Gates.

I think it's mostly someone being angry at one company's success in
    advancing their product.

    Laughable at best.

What I posted on the Cadkey Web Forum was dead nuts on because Cadkey
had to file bankruptcy for doing EXACTLY what I said their manglement
    should not be doing.

You conveniently forgot to mention that Cadkey eventually resorted to
banning Robert White (Co-owner of FastSURF and FastSolids with Dave
Rayburn) for posting the truth as well. I understand quite a few Cadkey
    regulars eventually got banned.

One might get the impression that you conveniently left out the rest of
the story. LOL. You wouldn't want that to be the case now would you ? :>)

Are you trying to be a proven liar like "The Virus" ? If so, you have a
long, long way to go to join the head of the Liars Club. You got
over 30,000 posts in you to join this "illusive" club?

Cadkey is the only Web Forum I have ever been banned from and I am quite
proud of being banned from posting there.

How much longer do you think Bob Bean will last ? Maybe it doesn't even
matter because he's little more than a figure head now and the laughing
    stock of the CAD/CAM industry.

Do you still use Cadkey ? If so, for what ?

    Is this about the chickens?
Too bad that, after years of looking, you could
find none while you have been caught red-handed
    too many times to count.

Sold any shoes lately at Kinko's?

This appears to be yet another clear lie.
Poor clueless probably never even used it to begin with,
    any more than anything else.
