I have a project where I need to layout and apply sheeting to a wall or roof surface. The trick is that I need to lay it out on a surface that may have notches or offsets and the sheeting edges must align with these. The sheeting needs to be balanced across the surface so that none is cut at these notch edges except the first and last sheet on the whole surface. In the case that isn't possible the same amount must be cut at first, last and each notch edge sheet. The sheets are all rectangular and the long dimension is parallel the shortest surface dimension. I strongly feel the solution will resemble a Greatest Common Divisor solution. Does anyone have experience in solving a similar problem and can give me a hint how to solve this? The logic is my problem, drawing the layout is not. thanks LJB
