<useless rant> i'm so happy once more. everytime my var insists so much to install the new swx release "because it's being around for months and it's ok" that i go for it, i discover new ways to break our past and current work. this time people at swx really did the impossible, braking the "insert/object/excel worksheet" (i'm sorry if english menu's aren't exactly what i guess they are since we use the italian version of this crap). inserting an excel worksheet in a drawing (thing that we do in 98% of our drawings, being it a bom or anything else) sometimes shows the table in the drawing (not always, because sometimes it won't even load the drawing) but never prints it, making drawings useless for our job. net result from the upgrade from 2005splatest to 2006sp3.4 is that new drawings don't work and older gets broken (because even reverting to older service packs doesn't recover our drawings and excel's tables). dealing with a drawing with 2 views of a single simple part has become so heavy that it's almost impossible to work with any other file at the same time. it's clear that a 2gig ram p4-3ghz with 2 scsi disks and an nvidia quadro fx1100 isn't enough for swx, but i'm wondering what the hell i should pay for to play around with the latest crap from swx corp. we appreciated also that the wizard creating the excel table related to an assembly/part (used for example for formulas and relations) creates an excel table whose cells are *all "text only"*!!! i wonder how a mind can be so wonderful to create a text only table used for numbers and formulas inside a cad. thanks, once more, people at swx. goddamn the day i chose this sh1t over cheaper else. at least, i would have saved some money. i'd really like, once in a lifetime, if you spent my money to improve some of the crap you produce. we don't want any fscking amazing new useless or clueless feature: we do want to be able to do our work and do it without fearing that everytime you fix a problem you introduce 15 new ones. *stop bugging us*!!! or do it for free, at least: 8 grands/year for this is a shame. </useless rant> my var told us that they could reproduce the same problem and that it's clearly a bug in the software that with the next service pack *may* be solved. cool to know that we've a lot of company. i'm sorry but i couldn't do any better than putting a <rant> tag. regards,
