We apparently bought this function but we don't know how to use it. To move from one machione to another I've got to use the lmutil at the command line back at the server room (thank gosh for google for finding this but this is not practical). What is the correct way?

I read here with 2005 you can do it from within AutoCAD... you mean you can't with 2004?

"License borrowing" means that a user can connect to a server running the
license manager (that hands out seats to many users as needed), and can then
"check out" one of those seats so that he or she can run without a network
connection. The "check out" or borrowing period is for a number of days,
and then the license is returned to the server to be shared again. I'm not
sure if this is what you mean by "moving from one machine to another".

You can use this feature with lmutil, but Autodesk wrote the License
Borrowing Utility to make it easier to use (and so that users don't have
full access to all of lmutil's functions, such as shutting down the server).

Instead of Googling, why not just read the docs?

  3. For 2004 it's an external program that you can run from the client but in
2005 you can do it from within AutoCAD.
