    Bo,

So now that we have had a couple of months on the Mac. How are things?
Any big problems, andy small annoyances other than what was mentioned
in the last run on this topic? Recomendations that may have come up?

I use it when I go to hospitals, main office, assembly, & toolmakers,
and it performs very well. It totally stopped my need to carry my Dell
laptop around. I do use the separate Adesso Mini keyboard if I am
going to do much actual drawing work. I use the RadTech BT500 wireless
mouse, and it works well with both the Mac side and PC side work.

The MacBook Pro can run a bit "hot", but that is a generic term, and
the fan actually rarely comes on. I take it everywhere and it has
never had a problem running SolidWorks.

I have NOT tried the Parallel's Virtualization software yet, as there
were initial video constraints, and I don't mind the 70-80 seconds to
reboot. eDrawings on the Mac can actually open and view both the
standard .sldprt and .sldasm files in addition to the eDrawings
themselves, so many times I do NOT need to boot into Windows to view a
    drawing.

If I go back to heavy non-stop SolidWorks and have my Dell available, I
default back to that as it has a bigger screen and I keep my primary
files on that machine. I use Retrospect software (now from EMC) to do
"Duplicate" function to keep the files on the MacBook synchronized with
    the Dell.

Does the macbook have a two button mouse next to the touchpad? I was
thinking of buying one, but was worried about this. I hate not having
    RMB!

The MacBook and MacBook Pros do NOT have a 2nd Mouse Button. I agree
it is a worthless situation they have now. In fact the "mouse area"
should be a touch pad and you can configure it any way you like it.
Get rid of the mechanical switches.

That is why I've taken to the Radtech BT 500 mouse which is a 3 button
mouse w/scroll wheel & small enough to work on the right side of the
palm rest area with ease (for my liking at least).

    Bo,

Have you been able to get realview graphics to work on your macbook? I
have just got mine and I don't use realview often but sometimes it saves
    me having to render something.

Wake me up when OS X and Windows can be run simultaneously on a Mac.
Now that would be news worth hearing.

I know have a strong suspicion that Jon is trolling for hits on his
posts, and "Ta-da!" is close to the shortest post I've seen.

I think I should be happy at the short post from Jon.

But unfortunately, there is no value given to the SolidWorks Newsgroup
    community hereabouts.

As per usual your wrong again, Bo.

Got two thank you e-mails for the post where I mentioned Jim Carruthers
advanced surfacing training tutorial. What may have no value to you
seems to have value with other SaladWorks users.

BTW, were you the second or third person in line in the Autodesk video?
With the masks on it was hard for me to tell. ;>)

Sorry Jon, I am too busy doing inventions and making licensing deals to
engage more than peripherally in the childish behavior I see around me.

Creating new things for me is inherently more satisfying than mocking
    others.

    everyone else was totally sane.

    Bo,

As soon as you stop posting nonsense drivel like you posted above, I'm
sure you will have more time. Why did it take you so long to figure
    that out?

The Zen of the RED button:

When my mind is deep in the code and I'm standing at the machine
editing or creating a program I can see the tool in my mind as cuts
the part. I'm like in another world.

In better shops people know when not to bother you. When
this happens on a frequent basis it's a good sign that
    perhaps one should move on.

    "One word sums it up.....HANDWHEEL"

I can just hear him pushing a toolbox down the freeway in a hurry ....
    rattle, clank, clank ....

Remember the X-files episode "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose"?

    [
Puppet: "There's something I've been wanting to ask you for some time
now. You've seen the things I do in the past as well as in the
    future."

    Clyde Bruckman: "They're terrible things."

Puppet: "I know they are. So tell me, please, why have I done them."

Clyde Bruckman: "Don't you understand yet son? Don't you get it?"
[Killer shakes his head] "You do the things you do because you're a
    homicidal maniac."

Puppet: "That... that does explain a lot, doesn't it. It's all
    starting to make sense now."

    Great!

Another great topic ruined by the dynamic duo Jon and Cliff.
