Block Problem After Using Layer Translator!

After running the Layer Translator, a bunch of A-FURN blocks that had the
correct color-by-layer got moved to A-WALL. i.e. the blocks reside on the
correct layer, A-FURN, but in REFEDIT, the lines, polylines, etc are now on
A-WALL. I'm not sure why this happened or how to prevent it in future.

Also, is there a way to return the objects contained in the block to their
    rightful layer(s)?

Also, via the Layer Translator, the "Architectural Tick" on Dimensions have
moved from A-ANNO-DIMS-200S to A-WALL. With uniformly scaled blocks I can at
least open the block to change the layers, but how do I do this with
    "Ticks"?

Ticks are a block like other blocks. They get included when you define a dimension style so you will probably have to change each dimension from wrong layer to right layer.

I think you can change one of each dimension style to the proper layer and matchprop the remaining ones as long as they are the same style. Matchprop select a different style and it will match the properties of the source style so be careful.

F.Y.I. The A-ANNO-DIMS, etc layer name looks like an AIA Layer Name Guidelines name.

I too would have thought Matchprop would work but it doesn't:(

In addition, drawing new dims produces "ticks that are on the wrong layer
even though the line and number are on the correct layer! I checked Dim
Styles but everything looks ok and is set "bylayer" so I don't know why the
"ticks" are displaying a different colour/layer?...

    Yes, that's my office's standard.

Simon: Apologize for the wrong steer, matchprop-wise. Have your tried redefining the dim style? Then doing a dim update? After that, I'm out of ideas.

Reason I mentioned layer standards reference was mainly because some people are nto acquainted with them -glad to hear your office is one of the more progressive ones.

Strange, in the dim style preview, I can see the dim line color and
extension line color, but there's no option for tick color, yet the 1:200
and 1:100 ticks are definitely red while the rest of the dim is obeying the
    colour ByLayer (white) option...

But thanks for your help, teiarch.
