Bill Krammer code ceases to work in 2004?

    This code from Bill Krammer served me well for a long time...
    but now it seems to not work in Autocad 2004.
    I used it to delete unnamed groups like "*A1" "*A2" and the like.
    Why doesn't it work now?

    (defun XplodeGRP (GROUPNAME /)
    (setq GROUPDICT (dictsearch (namedobjdict) "ACAD_GROUP"))
    (dictremove (cdr (assoc -1 GROUPDICT)) GROUPNAME)
