I thought some of us would get a kick out of my title. Seriously , though i
have multiple cad and cam programs and have never had a spr , patch, update
whatever you want to call it that was recalled. Now don't get me wrong i
would buy SW again versus the competition (i would maybe take a look at
SolidEdge with its latest changes a little closer though) but what is scary
is you want to download SPR to hopefully fix issues you have but yet you may
be creating a fiasco. The biggest fear i have is if i update to a SPR is it
not going to let my clients on a older SPR like spr 1.0 use my files? Also i
think SW needs to revisit there internal control procedures.

The only time you can't transfer parts, assemblies or drawings is between
major versions. SP's there are no problems.

    "SP's there are no problems."

    Yet.

I would imagine that in the halls of SW corporate, there is some
soul-searching and some procedure question and answer sessions. It was
probably hard for some of the SW employees to be at SW World, and smile to
the masses. I imagine that there were and still are some smiles down the
    road at the rival headquarters.

I still wouldn't jump ship right now, but I do have this nice Pro/E
    certification here........

Sorry for my density (pardon the pun) but do you mean it is true or it isn't
true? We still use SW2003 for real work and I won't go to SP2.1 if there's
a possibility of not being compatible with our non SP2x clients. In other
words, we're not compatible with them now being we're a release behind but I
don't want to make matters worse by leapfrogging them.

We went to SP2, had problems with BOMs and went back to SP1, couldnt read
    the models we had created.
Its ironic, we had legacy data from a future version!

Thanks for clarifying. Now that SP2.1 is coincidentally released, I'll try
the backward compatibility between 2.1 and 1.0. If all is ok and the SP is
otherwise solid then it might be time to move up to '04. Thanks again!
