    Hi,

I would like to know which is the best tabloid size, laser/led/solid
ink printer today for huge CAD maps. we're not really looking at the
price. What we want is the best professional quality/speed/consumables
    cost.

I hesitate, right now, between the Xerox Phaser 7300, Xerox Phaser
7700 and the hp LaserJet 5500.

Is there someone with some feedback on one of those printers or other
printers not mentioned we could look at?

We have the Xerox Phaser 790 (I know it is not one on your list, but
perhaps there eare simularities) However, it is not uncommon for me
to do a print on our old HP inkjet because of problems with the Xerox
    printer.

-At times there is a fight between AutoCAD, Windows, and/or the Xerox
printer about paper size and orientation.

-There was some issue over the external paper tray being unable to
sense the paper size, so the Tabloid is in the internal tray, with
letter in the external bypass tray. Confusion results, and we commonly
end up with the priner stopped saying, "Please load letter size in
    tray 1".

-The initial warm up is pretty long. If the laser is not warmed up,
it is much faster to use the old inkjet we have. B/W is always faster
    on the old inkjet.

-The first 6 mos we used the laser, we had chronic paper jam issues
    and plenty of service calls.

The result is that I am pretty much sold on inkjet now.
