Batch Search for Text in Drawings- How to?

Hello! Hope someone can help.
I use MS Explorer to text search several thousand drawings for one
certain text word. This works great for drawings created with R14 or
before, but not for more recently created drawings (R2K and above..)
I assume the drawings have been "compiled" or archived by AutoCAD when
saved. The MS Explorer text search won't work.
Is there a method to search these thousands of drawings for keywords?
The keyword would not be in the assigned drawing properties.
