Looking for recommendations for books/resources on automating
deployment of AutoCAD 2007 configurations and changes. I understand
how to use SMS/Group Policy, etc; my issues and interest involve
AutoCAD user profiles, where & how settings are held, copying "correct"
    settings and deploying, etc. Thanks.

I'll be happy to jot down what works for me. I manage the installs and
configuration for 80 or so users. Let me know if you are interested or
whether you are looking for other types of resources.

I appreciate your offer, and will accept anything you can provide. My
email is valid, pls send anything that's convenient or direct me to
    where to download.

I'm a tech w/ a new client. They use AutoCAD extensively but their
configuration method is to install it and then spend an hour plus on
every desktop configuring 14000 options. Then when something is wrong
or changes they visit all the desktops again. This seems insane and
doesn't scale very well! I've read the 2007 Network Admin Guide but it
doesn't provide much detail other than to say "use the deployment
wizard to supply any custom files you want to include in the
    install..".

The reseller hasn't been a great resource, they say they write their
own manuals but I haven't seen them yet. So I'm left wondering how
everyone else is learning and doing this, short of the $5,000
conference. Most of the the AC2007 books haven't been published yet so
I'm holding off on the purchase since I can't see the contents yet. Is
there some book or Autodesk resource that I'm not aware of, did I miss
some key info in the network admin guide?

    Thanks.

In looking at my post I realize it's not quite accurate. Deployment
tools have helped somewhat but there have been sooooo many problems
that I believe we are missing something...or AutoCAD released a product
w/ so many bugs it's hard to comprehend.

    My email is
