agreed- I hope that they either integrate Alias features with Inventor,
or even better add MCAD capabilities to Alias which has a better brand
cache than inventor. You are right about Autodesk not having a high end
CAD software that needs to stand above the rest. Hopefully this will
help Solidworks in the long run as well.

It's a sad *fact* of life that SaladWorks Corp. lives and dies by what
    Autodesk does.

SaladWorks "partner" UGS is going to offer some more help in getting
SaladWorks to be a product that deals better with the real world. :>)

UGS has decided to making an affordable version of NX CAM available.
The *fact* is that sales of UG are flat and will stay flat. Only one
way to get growth... make SolidEdge a much more complete package.

    http://www.upfrontezine.com/current.htm

"NXCAM does computer-aided machining, of which UGS has 32 years
experience. The Express version comes in four flavors and four price
tags, depending on your needs -- ranging from 2.5-axis to 5-axis
machining. Included at no extra cost are 200 post processors.

UGS already has 35,000 users of this CAM software, and sees great
potential for the Express version. One reason is financial. This
segment of the software industry has not suffered from price erosion,
as has CAD. Whereas full-feature CAD has fallen from over $20,000 to
under $10,000, CAM software has remained in the $10-20,000 range."

    Hope the following correction helps.

Ah yes. Quite unlike the *truth* that issues forth from your mouth...

The truth is often not pretty and dickhead engineers like yourself
    usually can't handle it...

  10. This is too funny - I couldn't figure out what the heck you were talking
about here. Then I realized that I had already ensured peace by blocking a
couple names, therefore I wasn't seeing the other part of the conversation.
    Guess it works! :)

You have yet again confused CAM with CAD as well as with CAD/CAM.
Don't you know *anything* about *any* of it?
How ignorant are you, really? To have so badly misread what *someone
else* wrote (a blog to begin with) (yet again)? After all these many years
of endless BS from "stolen" ads & the posts of others ....

Being at the top doesn't mean you aren't scared, especially when your
customer base is buy competitive products rather than upgraded to your
own product. There are alot of Acad users posting questions on various
    solidworks forums.

What people do in the privacy of their own barns is their business but taping it
is stoopid stoopid stoopid. Autodesk's rank and file should demand mandatory
drug testing of all company officers.

    Rome is burning.

funny you should say that - my thought train rattled on to wondering
afterward if the CEO had a cocaine problem....really it looks like one very
sick culture there at Autodesk. If you had misgivings about the company
attitudes and behaviours before it was pretty well confirmed by that
    exhibition.

Any CEO who spends time with the senior management doing weird antics
is distracting themselves from solving the REAL PROBLEM at hand.

The real issue is that more people are buying SolidWorks than Inventor
and their CEO does NOT know what to do about it, other than to spend
    time in diversions.

    Sell AutoDesk short!

Your confusing "Solidworks" with Solidedge a UGS product. Tell me that
    was a typo...
    There is NO partnership Solidworks.
    - A few UGS facts (call it propaganda if required):

    - Approx. 46,000 total customers (all products).

    - Over $1.1 billion in annual sales ( all products and services) in 62
    countries with over
4 million licenses (all products) worldwide

    -11 straight profitable quarters

When one licenses Parasolid your a UGS "partner".

controls come with DP Esprit? :>)

Your not missing much, Ian. Basically the video portrays SaladWorks
users a blind product loyalists who can't get laid. You could say the
extact same about Inventor users being blind product loyalists.

The whole video is really silly and a great way to distract from the
*fact* that both SaladWorks and Inventor suck at dealing with
non-native data and at high-end surfacing.

Hmmm... I guess In this regard the video really does work ! :>)
