    hello all,

i'm just wondering if there's a command in autocad which can be used to
break a line in equal parts.

for ex I have a line of 20 mm . li want to divide it into 4 equal parts,
whan i use the command 'divide' it only create dots at 50 mm intervals. also
i cannot snap to these dots !

do you know any command to divide a line into equal parts?

    thx

    Hi

Many ; --------- you divide and ansver 5 not 4 as this is AutoCAD, but instead
of placing a dot, you can't se before you changed both Pdmode and Pdstyle -
    still AutoCAD ;)) ,
You draw a short line, that you make into a block "a" . Then when Divide ask
number of segments or "Block" you ansver "Block" --- AutoCAD right --- and then
you ansver A to place block "A" to divide the line instead of a dot . ---------
now all you need, is to explode the 4 blocks that is placed or find them with an
SSget call , and now come the great AutoCAD trick, as now you can make the first
new line, from "end" point to intersection of the endpoints of the exploded A
block ( the original line contained in the A block, --------- and the end point
of the first line and mid point of same , -------- now as this is AutoCAD,
please remember the "T" parameter in the inters function.
Now if you continue the same way, as this is Autocad , starting with the obvious
@ for start point of next fourth part line, and Inters again for end point of
second line, you soon get the grip of it, ------------ already now, you proberly
spended two hours, in the attempt, drawing 5 lines with AutoCAD.
Still as this is AutoCAD, you could have divided an ellipse the same way ;))
    P.C.
    Have a nice day

  3. Divide the line
    Erase the line
Draw new lines using points to snap to
    Erase the points

    Done
