AutoCad plot job stalling

I have a machine running Windows XP Pro SP 1 and AutoCad. When a plot
job is sent from AutoCad to the DesignJet 500 plotter, most of the
time the job will stall while uploading to the plotter. After a minute
or so, the job will clear from the queue as if the job was done.

The plot job is sent from the pc to another workstation acting as a
print spooler, also running XP SP 1. From there it is sent to a
JetDirect card then the plotter. There are other stations setup the
same way that are not having any problems. All of the latest drivers
and patches are installed, the JetDirect has had its firmware
upgraded. Autocad was installed on the station before any anti-virus
software was installed. It is printing through the HP printer port
and not the TCP/IP standard port. I thought the NIC or the switch may
be at fault, but the user does not have any complaints working with
    large files over the network.

Thank you for any suggestions you may have.
