Just purchased a new hp 500 and installed it with a usb cable to the main office computer (and shared it).

All other computer can connect and send test pages however our other cad machine crashes when you select the printer in the printer options AutoCAD hangs.

Any ideas, have downloaded the latest drivers

This happened to me today. I had somehow created a pc3 file that pointed to a
    deleted plotter driver.

Check all your paths and make sure your pc3 file is set up for a plotter that is in a
file that AutoCAD can find....It seems too obvious but that is what happened to me
    today.

AutoCAD...in this case, ADT 2005, did not exactly crash, but it froze up, or hanged
    as you said.
I had to do a control-Alt-Del to end the process.
