    Hello,

I am looking for a program to walk through a map with autocad-drawings.
In principle the same way that XP shows the jpg-files in explorer.
This facility is also present if you are using Autocad light, but this
preview (files/open) is to small to see the small differences in the
    different drawings (in my case).

I am also not looking for a viewer like Volovieuw or Autocad light, but
a program which showes autocad drawings full-screen and shows by a click
of a button the next drawing. before you select them to open them with a
    viewer.

    Does this excist?

    Thanks in advance,

    Harold

Sorry, to bother you again, but does it do as I asked?
I've had a lot of tips (not in this newsgroup), but they
all were suggesting another viewer like volo or autocadlight.

I really am looking for a program which do not open but only show the
contents of the file. Like it does with autocadlight with file/open in
    the previeuw.

I couldn't find my answer to this question on your link.

    Greetings,

    Harold

  6. Harold,

About 13 years ago I worked at a company where many of the engineers
had a DOS program, something like Norton Commander, that provided very
fast thumbnails of AutoCAD drawings (and many other graphic files).

All I can remember is that it came from the Netherlands, and I have
never seen anything like it since (but I don't work with AutoCAD very
    often).

So I did a search using the words "thumbnail AutoCAD explorer" (or
"viewer") and came up with a few candidates for you:

Most promising, but R13 and R13 only: CADThumb

None of these look as "slick" as the one I remembered, but one of them
    might work for you.

  7. The best thing I've seen is CadThumb. (And contrary to what another poster
wrote, it does work with newer version of Autocad, not just r13).

    You can download it here:

Thanks for your tip, but this program is not exactly what i meant. I
want the drawing full-screen. Not as a thumbnail.

I hope you can help me with that also.

    Greetings.

Through a other poster, I downloaded cadthumb. This works ok, but has
    not this option.

    Thanks.

  11. Whereisit (can't remember the url) will do this under Windows. It needs to
build the previews first when it scans the drive though.
