    Hello,
In our firm we just got Distiller to create PDF files. Problem is that I
need the result to be in Monochrome and the settings for that are disabled
    within Autocad. Any idea?
    Thanks

try to redefine the pen style table to monochrome. If that functionality is
disabled, the same installation that gave you the distiller also defines a
virtual printer called PDFwriter. This printer utilizes the penstyle tables
just like anyother, and so the output should be bw.

If your intention is to use PDF to secure drawings from changes, I think
that it would be better to use the volo view utility (especially in ACAD
2004) as it allows for markup, tracking ofchanges, virtual signatures , ecc,
while rendering the file effectively non modifiable. If I were malicious
(and who couldn't be when there is enough money and penal responsibility
involved) and received a PDF, I would have no technical difficulty in
    modifying the file.
