Autocad and text in EPS files

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Diego Andres Alvarez Marin, Dec 1, 2004.

  1. Hi everybody!

I have an autocad plot with some text on it. When I export the plot to
and .EPS file the text is also plotted.

Is there a way to retain text strings as text in the eps output?

I need to have the text in the .EPS because I will call this .EPS with
LaTeX and then modify the text strings with psfrag.

    I am using ACAD 2002

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers,

    Diego Andres

Unfortunately I'm not aware of any option that generates text into a
plot file as text (.eps or otherwise) in autocad itself.

You might have some luck with 3rd party software. I found one
application that would convert DWG to PDF and would keep the truetype
text as text in the PDF rather than line work as autocad normally
would do. It looks like it has to be truetype text (not autocad
fonts). And of course you would then need to convert to eps. See
    http://www.cadzation.com/home.htm for one such program.

  3. As for Autocad 14, psout does preserve text as text. Fonts have to be
    listed in acad.psf map.

    Ciao.
