AutoCAD 2005 - plot page setups don't stay

If i change a pagesetup in 2005 and make sure I select "keep changes" and
leave the plot dialog, I've got reset everything up again. I'm wondering
what's going on, that it doesn't keep the changes i've made and always
defaults to... well the "default" page setup.

uhhhh... no. It hasn't "always been like that".
I can go into a drawing in my adt2000i and create a page setup for plotting
in the plot dialog box and then cancel out of the plot dialog box and the
    page setup will remain.

So they're changing this in 2005??? Great.... :(

"Page Setup" and "Plot" are two different things. And, yes, it has always
been like that since Acad2000. They "look" the same, but do slightly
    different things.

From "Page Setup", you can set up the plot settings, click OK to get out and
things will stay put. It does not plot when you're done. You can plot
while in "Page Setup" - there is an added "Plot" button at the bottom for
    it.

From the "Plot" dialog, any changes made will NOT stick if you cancel
without plotting. Clicking OK moves on to plot the drawing and changes made
in this dialog will stay put - as long as the "save changes to layout" in
    the upper left is checked.

I used page setup and the plot dialog..with "save changes to layout option".
Both would keep the printer, but not the sheet size. I did some playing
around and discovered it was because I was using a system printer. As soon
as i created a PC3 for that printer, it kept the changes with no problem...

    Thanks for the feedback though

sorry to disagree again Joel.... I don't use the "page setup" dialog box,
    never have.
Simply typing in "plot" will get me to the box I use where I can create my
setup for plotting (making sure the "save changes to layout" box is checked
of course) and then click "cancel" and when I next come back into the "plot"
dialog box my setup is there, saved just like I had intended.

Then you've got a unique setup. It's never worked like that for me.

I just now tried it again. I typed "plot", changed the plotter from the
HP5000 pc3 to the Oce pc3, cancelled, typed "plot" again and the dialog came
up with the HP5000 set back as it was. The "save changes..." box is
    checked.

I tried it in both Acad 2002 and ADT 2004. I even went to another machine
in the office that still has Acad2000 on it - same thing.

ahhhhh.. but you've got to save it to a "page setup" name before hitting
"cancel". That's probably why it works for me and isn't working for you?

    Well....
    ....
    ....
    ....
    ....
    there you go :)

I've never used the "page setup name" feature before. I see it there, but
    never used it.
