    Hello,

it takes more than a minute to lauch a licensed Autocad 2005 XP Prof.
I did a second installation on another machine (licensed using the port.
lic.utility) but te same problem occurs. Looks like Autocad is waiting for
    something.

    Where to look?
    Thanks,
    Dirk

  2. I'm running it on XP Home and 2005 is slow on initial start up after a
fresh reboot. I comes up fast if my computer has not been re-booted since
ACAD has been run. Compare the size of the program with R14. It is huge.

    Hey,
it is not a problem of "Autocad 2005 is hugh".
    On Autocad 2005 launch:
    - Autocad window is opened quick
    - selecting a template or an existing drawing: drawing is opened quick
    ("Regenerating model")
    - toolbars become visible and gray
    - than autocad is blocked more than a minute !
Taskmanager: Applictions: Autocad 2005 : not responding
Process : Acad.exe takes up to 99% cpu
    - After > one minute: Autocad window with openened drawing is repainted.

Question: what is Autocad waiting for?

In the same session, more drawings are opened very quick.
Closing and launching Autocad again gives the same performance problem at
    startup.

    Addendum:
    - disabling the "AutoCAD Startup Accelerator" and reboot doesn't change the
    behavior of Autocad
    - 'quick search' is not running
    - Office 2003 is installed
    - the same problem on a second PC

    Yhanks for your help

    Hey,

suggested actions did not help.Office 2003 is installed and quick search is
    not installed.

    - selecting a template or an existing drawing: drawing is opened quick

    startup.

    Addendum:
    - disabling the "AutoCAD Startup Accelerator" and reboot doesn't change the
    behavior of Autocad
    - no additional Autocad applications (lisp, VLisp, ARX, VBA...) are loaded.
    - 'quick search' is not running
    - Office 2003 is installed
    - the same problem on a second PC

  6. Try this:
    1) go to control panel
    2) open internet options.
    3) in Advanced tab look for Security section.
    4) uncheck the "Check for publisher's certificate revocation.
