Autocad 2005 LDD Layer Manager/Layer Standards

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by TheHurricaners, Sep 28, 2004.

  1. I use LDD (Land Developer Desktop, 2005) for site developement and
have run into this issue: A SLOOOOOOOOW layer properties manager.
Upon closer examination, I determined that an "AIA 2nd Edition" Layer
Standard is attaching itself to my drawings. Since AIA stands for
American Institute of Architects, I suspect this layer standard is
being introduced into my drawings when I insert an architect's work
    into a site plan.

I've downloaded the patch for the slow layer properties manager
issue--it hasn't really improved anything. The AIA layer standard
appears to introduce many new layers and attemps to integrate itself
into an existing standard, thus, slowing things down.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can eliminate this layer standard or
prevent it from "infecting" my drawings in the first place?

    Thanks in advance.

The slooooooooooooooow performace in probably due to multitudes of layer
filters included in the drawing. Create an empty layer filter and use "load
layer filters" to insert in the drawing. All the "bad guys" will go away. Of
course, one still has to deal with slooooooooooow opening the first time.

Delete all unneeded named layer filters.
