Auto opening of assemblies and parts, how to prevent?

    Have a couple of files that when ever I open up a particular part SW will
    also automatically open up the assembly and the part that was used to create
    the part I inatially opened (a mirror).

    Why is SW doing this and how can it be prevented?

    Tools > Options > External References > Load Referenced Documents - set
    to None

    Go To TOOLS > OPTIONS > EXTERNAL REFERENCES
    and toggle the "load referenced documents" to NONE
