Attributes won't redefine in 2000i

    we got autocad 2000i and use a lot of attributes in our drawings.
    however, we cannot globally redefine the attribute of all the blocks with
    different properties (e.g. style and color of the attribute) even if we
    redefine
    the block. autocad's help says we need to insert the redefined block
    on top of the old ones which is time consuming. any workaround on this?
