Assigning different materials to parts of assembly in Photoworks

Discussion in 'SolidWorks' started by Mahavir Nagaraj, Sep 19, 2003.

  1. This might be a simple one for you guys...how do I assign different
materials to the parts of my assembly in Solidworks 2K3/Photoworks 3? The
rendering tree menu doesn't expand the material tree below assembly

  2. In 2003 PW1 you can only apply one material to an assembly. To have
different materials on different parts you need to apply the material at the
    part level.

Open the part and apply the material to features, faces or the entire part.
Click back to the assembly and hit the rebuild button or control Q. Render.
The material applied to the part should now be visible in the assembly.
