Assign Materials by Layer Name

    Is there a way to write either a LISP or a VBA which I can run on a batch of
    files which will permit me to assign specific materials to the layers based
    on the layer names? And is there a way to assign a material using the
    Command Line which doesn't require utilizing dialog boxes?
