I'm looking for architectural residential and commercial details like walls
section, foundation section, dormer section, pier sections and etc. Is
anybody known where I can find the details on the Internet? If you want to
share details, please email me at

Thank you in advance for your help.

Based on local Code requirements, drawing style considerations, and other
factors, many of us prefer to "roll our own" details. Once done, the WBLOCK
command can make that beautifully done detail available forever more. That
way, your drawings will look like your drawings, rather than assemblies
contrived from the work of others. Just my (admittedly STRONG) opinion.

I believe your opinion but if you see other way that we learn from books and
sharing basic information each other like this NG, trim profile styles, door
styles, contain walls styles and etc. I'm sure; any section I will get "I
have to roll own" is not going to apply to my details. It's just to learn
    work from others.

Contrived or gain knowledge of the work with others?

    Can we learn to share?

That's not the issue here. When one "learns" from using others' work, one
tends to "learn" bad things as well as "good" things. Requirements for
architectural details are governed by codes, local customs, and other
factors, including *good drafting practice* ... things best learned from
education and good, hard experience, not from relying on the work of others.

    That's not the issue here.

I asked for architectural details to (options) learn not to put in
construction drawings and as I mentioned that the details not going to apply
to my plan if I get one. And I have to do my own....

Yes, We all know about it and not for architectural details any other field
    too.

    others.

Are you going to keep yourself after you learn best things or going to share
    with others?

    Why other people share styles

Because you learn from it. I'm not going to use the roof slab edge style on
section, I will learn from it and I make one for my plan "roll our own"

if your "learning", how do you know whats good and whats bad?

i think paul was simply trying to state that procedures or technics really must evole from personal need.

on a thread here once, we got into dicussions over ship's ladders. i quoted osha specs, but individual from north carolina had differing opions, based on state code.

i'm not arch., so i really couldnt give you any input as far as our system goes, but even with coorporate mandated format, we tend to stray ourselves, basically core disagreement with how things should be done, but no power to change the rules.

I agree with John that we need to share information each other if its benefit to other. Newly born baby cant walk, you have to share and show and give finger to baby to hold…
