applying hatch to a layer

Discussion in 'SolidWorks' started by Lee Bazalgette - factorydesign, Sep 28, 2006.

  1. Hi,

I like to put hatch patterns on a particular layer so I can have a generic
colour etc. When I do this from the Hatch dialogue there is a drop-down list
for th layer to apply the hatch, but it seems that when I apply the hatch it
applies it to the current layer of the the drawing, rather than the one I
    select from the menu.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

    SW2006 SP 4

    Thanks

    Lee

No, this is a bug that has been around for a while. The layer won't
take when you apply the hatch. You have to select the hatch after
applying and then set the layer in the property manager. It will work
the second time around. This is one of those things that is annoying
as all hell and you would think its an easy fix.
