i work at home. i've got a little hp printer that only prints 8 1/2 x 11 sheets. i get plans that are oversized (24 x 36 for example) and need to print it out to work on a design.

so...i draw boxes that are 8 1/2 x 11 and are copied all over the sheet. i go to print the first "box", select "apply to layout" to save the changes to printing preferences...but then there's a black rectangle on my layout and the rest of the plan is greyed out. i have to undo the command and then reset everything for each print.

any way to "turn off" this highlighted print box so that my plan image remains the same, but the setting for printing remain? thanks.
