API: sketch editing

    I would like to take a sketch and remove everything to one side of a parting
    line. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to decide which lines, arcs
    and splines to get rid which ones to trim and which ones to leave. I know
    lines would be relitively simple to work with but the arcs and splines pose
    some problems.
